Problems Playing Tiger Woods 09 PGA Tour All Play Left Handed

When I started playing Tiger Woods 09 All Play I was very excited from the beginning. I have found two problems with playing left handed.

I was creating my own character, choosing my clubs and taking the training course. The training went fine however when I got on the course and made the first green I could not put. Now this is the number one complaint on all the review sites. My problem was different. When I pulled back on the contorller to initiate the put the meter would erratically move up and down making it impossible to put. After hours of frustrating play I tried to put right handed. It worked! Even though my character lined up left handed and hit just fine on the tee and in the fairway and lined up left handed on the green the game thought I was right handed on the green. While I was in the fairway I pushed the + key and looked at the options. Sure enough it showed me as right handed. I changed to left handed and everything worked great. I had to do this until I started the Tiger Challenge. For some reason once I started the challenges it kept me as left handed.
The same thing happened to a friend of mine that came over to play. He still has to select left handed when we play.

The second problem is in the club tuner. I wanted to tune my clubs and went to the club tuner. I was slicing a little and selected the fix recommended by Tigers Coach. I started slicing more and more. Although I was playing left handed, the slice and fade were reversed. The club tuner is set for right handed play. That left out the automatic fix for left handed players. So it's hit or miss.

Tiger Woods 09 Vs. Wii Golf

When I first got the Wii I thought the games that came with it were great. I am old enough to remember Pong. My uncle got the Odyssey for his kids, really him, for Christmas. We were all fascinated to watch a cursor move across the TV screen and move a paddle up and down to hit it. How far we have come.

On to the Wii. I love golf. The Wii golf game was great for a basic game and it did highlight how well the controllers worked to simulate a golf swing. But it is the basic game. You play on one course. You make up a basic Wii character and you play. Me and my friends and family spent many hours competing playing golf and keeping track of the scores. My wife decided since we liked it so much she reserved a copy of Tiger Woods 09 All Play for Wii.

The game is a great golf game. I have not played Wii golf since. You start by creating your own character. You can basically create a character that looks very similar to your self. You buy your own clubs, tune your clubs, go to school on how to play with tutorials by Tiger Woods Golf Coach, and proceed to play your first game.

You can enter the Tiger Woods Challenge and play against professional golfers in different matches or go directly on tour and play your way through the amateur tour, get your PGA card and go on the pro tour.

There are many courses to play and you can increase the difficulty as you get better. It will take a long time to get through this game. You can also play as one of 26 different pro golfers if you'd like.

You dress yourself, pick animations for when you make a good shot or a bad one. You can slice and hook the ball, you can put spin on it, adjust the loft of your clubs, and also unlike Wii Golf you can chose any iron or wood in your bag, hit punch, lob and pitch shots. Switch between a chip, pitch or put if your close.

There really is no comparison between the two however that's to be expected since the Wii Golf comes with the systems and Tiger Woods is all golf. In my next post I'll talk about the problems with Left handed play.
